According to a statement released by Adamawa State Police Command spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, Basiru Enu, a 16-year-old resident of Kwatau Village, Hong local government area of Adamawa state has been arrested for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl.
The suspect was alleged to have taken advantage of the little girl when she went to fetch water at the stream by forcefully having carnal knowledge of her.
He also said the suspect was arrested at Kala’a Division following a Complaint received from the girl’s father.
State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatole Adeniyi, has tasked the officer in charge of the Family Unit to take over the investigation and ensure the prosecution of the suspect, Nguroje concluded.
