With barely a few weeks to his wedding, suspected cultists have gunned down a man identified as Danladi, the son of a Seriki Hausawa, in Edo.
The victim was reportedly killed at a friend’s shop located about 100 metres from the Esigie Police Division in Oredo Local Government Area, one of the municipal council areas in the state as he sat awaiting the arrival of his friend whom had reportedly been out on a business trip.
According to an eye witness’ account, the gunmen numbering about four, emerged from a GLK Benz jeep and shot Danladi twice in the chest at close range.
Many residents who knew Danladi described him as an easy-going man whose death would create a huge vacuum in the lives of his family, bride and friends. They also urged the police to ensure the culprits responsible for the dastardly act were brought to book.
One of the residents who spoke on the condition of anonymity said “Danladi is an easy going guy. He was the son of Seriki Hausa in the area. His death has created a huge vacuum in his family and a painful loss to his would-be wife.”
“He has started sending invitation cards for his wedding to guests. He was billed to tie the knot with his partner in December,”
The police were yet to react at the time of filing this report.
