Addo All Stars FC, Ajah, Lagos, capped off an eventful 2024 with a vibrant end-of-year celebration on December 28. The event, which combined camaraderie, entertainment, and a showcase of footballing talent, featured a friendly match between the Blues and the Greens, symbolizing the club’s unity and competitive spirit.

Guests, players, and officials were treated to a memorable afternoon filled with delicious food, drinks, and heartfelt speeches. The party was as much a celebration of the club’s achievements as it was a tribute to the individuals who have kept the footballing flame alive in Addo throughout the year.

Mr. Olatunde Sege ’99’, Addo All Stars FC Team Co-ordinator

A central figure of the celebration was the team coordinator, Mr. Olatunde Sege, fondly referred to as “99.” Widely regarded as the driving force behind the club’s success, Mr. Sege’s leadership and dedication were lauded by players and attendees alike. Many called for his elevation to the position of Addo Football Association Chairman, citing his pivotal role in fostering the growth of football in the community.

In his heartfelt appreciation speech, Mr. Sege expressed gratitude to God and to all team members for their unwavering support and collaboration, which he described as the cornerstone of the year’s accomplishments. “This year has been a success because of everyone’s contributions,” he said. “I promise that 2025 will be even better as we continue to build on this solid foundation.”

Mr. Sege also took the opportunity to commend the efforts of the Addo All Stars FC executives, including Chairman Alhaji Ishola, Vice Chairman Mr. Abdullahi, Head Coach Mr. Owolabi Hifada, Team Secretary Mr. Olabode, Financial Secretary Mr. Ayuba, Treasurer Mr. Olanrewaju, and Public Relations Officer Mr. Ibrahim. He praised their accountability, support, and dedication, noting that their combined efforts had significantly bolstered the team’s operations and success.

Special recognition was also given to the club’s esteemed patrons, including the CEO of Breeders FC, the CEO of Mercury Dredging, and the Baale of Addo. Mr. Sege expressed profound gratitude for their benevolence and unwavering support, which he acknowledged as instrumental in advancing the club’s mission and vision.
