The Publisher of Iwe Iroyin Asejere, Mr. Samuel Akinrole , a foremost Journalist and media specialist of the Lagos State power house, has been specially honoured with the 2023 Insight Global News Award, for his countless contributions to better the state of the nation, and rescuing it from going down the drain with the home Base mighty pen.
The Awards were presented to him,with Hon. Jamiu Ajisegiri, Asp Blessing Adeze, and others, on Wednesday, During the 2nd annual ceremony of the Insight Media News Award, held at NRDC opposite Fela Shrine, Alausa secretariat ikeja, Lagos. Speaking with Cfame News Correspondent, His Royal Highness, Oba James Ajibola Ajani (Ateposun1), the Opo of Idosemo Kingdom and a retired police officer, took the opportunity to highlight the crucial role of the Nigeria Police Force and advocate for improved attention to their welfare.
Oba James Ajani applauded the Nigeria Police Force, emphasizing the dedication and sacrifices made by officers to ensure the stability and peace of the nation. As a retired police officer himself, he commended the force’s commitment even during times when citizens are enjoying holidays with family and friends.
Expressing his trust in President Bola Tinubu, Oba James Ajani cited the former governor’s track record in Lagos State.
He believes that President Tinubu, as now elected President, would deliver positive results for the entire nation. The royal ruler emphasized the need for support, especially in relation to the welfare of the Nigeria Police Force.
Oba James Ajani expressed concern in his address, over the lack of sufficient attention and support from the Nigerian government, towards the police force. He highlighted the challenging conditions faced by officers, including the issue of unpaid pensions for retired personnel.
From his personal perspective, Oba James Ajani revealed that since his retirement from the police force, he has not received any payment despite years of dedicated service. He stressed the importance of recognizing and appreciating the efforts of retired officers, urging the government to address the issue promptly.
The traditional ruler warned, that the lack of attention to the welfare of the Nigeria Police Force could result in demotivation among officers. He called for urgent measures to ensure that officers receive the support they deserve, considering the vital role they play in maintaining peace and stability.
Oba James Ajibola Ajani’s advocacy for increased attention to the welfare of the Nigeria Police Force, input a crucial voice to the ongoing dialogue on the importance of supporting law enforcement agencies.
