Nigerians have been congratulated, as we celebrated the 63rd Independence Anniversary in the country, and urged to pray for their leaders and the youth so as to rejoice and have a better nation.
The St. Matthews Anglican Church, under the Diocese of Egba West, Ogun State, Preacher, Canon Samuel Oluremi Ogunbanjo made this known on Sunday, during the Youth Light Fellowship Anniversary, held at Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, that the reality is that, Nigeria still need to seek the face of God to put an end to suffering in the nation.
He commended the past leaders of Nigeria for working so well to building the nation till this stage we are in the country.
Saying that, Nigerians need the people who are honest in the country, to run the affairs of the nation well, without pains. Because it takes God’s fearing leaders to rule the people, and do it well, in order to make the people rejoice.
In the same vein,he said, for any nation to work in contrary to the Will of God and disobeying His words, could be disheartening and retrogressive, even after fasting and praying.
Meanwhile, Fasting and Praying is good, but Nigeria still need to do the will of God to help the nation and be prosperous.
Therefore, he charged the Youth through the Book of Matt. 5:13 – 16,during his Sermon, to rise up to ask God for help and reign in their lives, so that they will lead Nigeria to a better stage, when they occupy any position in Nigeria Government.
He said from the 1John 5:19,& Phil. 2:15, that Christians should let their light shine at work, Studies, Business places to be a Christ representative, that achieve the best to conquer the Goliath of our time in Nigeria and be great again.
The President of the Youth Light Fellowship, Mr. BAMIDELE Allen advised the youth to forgo crisis involvement , or protest at this time, that dialogue is the best to embrace now, to achieve the best country of our desires, in order to reduce crime in the nation.
He expressed his belief, that Nigeria will be a country to be proud of one day.
Also, that the Youth Light Fellowship 2023 Anniversary was lined up with special activities, like Bible Studies and Prayer meetings, which actually started on Tuesday, with Career Talks, themed Trust and Obey, which was looked thoroughly into, as to light up the world of the youth and encouraging them on the Career path to choose.
He added, that so many empowerment have been done among the youth recently, in partnership with PDX, on Web Designing Programmes, Craft and Shoe making, and Enterpreneural programme on coding.
He prayed for God to grant the Youth the grace to let the Lagos State Government recognise the Church youth, for a collaboration and more benefits soon.
