The Nigeria Customs Service, Western Marine Command, has demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability and interagency collaboration.
Comptroller Paul Bamisaiye led his team in a cleaning, planting, and preservation exercise to beautify the command’s surroundings and promote eco-friendliness.
The initiative aligns with the Comptroller General of Customs’ work-life balance initiative and showcases the command’s dedication to sustainability.
In a separate development, the command received a visit from the Nigerian Army’s 15 Field Engineer Regiment, consolidating their existing synergy in securing Nigeria’s waterways.
Comptroller Bamisaiye emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating that both agencies need each other to combat smuggling, piracy, and illicit activities.
The Commanding Officer of the 15 Field Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Lawan, expressed optimism that the synergy will enhance their operations and promote economic and social stability in the Lagos/Badagry Waterway.
