In a shocking incident that has left the Arepo community of Ogun State reeling, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu has been abducted from her residence. The coordinated attack occurred late Sunday evening, sending waves of fear through the neighborhood.
Sources confirmed that the kidnappers, whose identities remain unknown, launched the assault as Mrs. Odumosu approached her home in her Lexus Jeep. According to eyewitness accounts, she was intercepted at the gate, forcibly removed from her vehicle, and led through a swampy area into an undisclosed location.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement. “The victim was about to enter her residence when her vehicle was accosted. She was dragged out and taken away through a swampy bush path,” Odutola revealed.
In response, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) has mobilized a team of officers to comb the surrounding swampy terrain in search of the victim. Additionally, local community leaders, including the Baale of Warewa and Maaba, have been alerted to deploy local security operatives to the riverine areas to aid in the rescue efforts.
