Ghana is set to implement a visa-free policy for all African nationals in early 2025, following approval from President Nana Akufo-Addo in December.This move fulfills a commitment made by the president during the Africa Prosperity Dialogues, where he emphasized the importance of fostering stronger ties across the continent.
The policy aims to enhance tourism, trade, and regional mobility by eliminating visa restrictions that have long hindered these sectors. Previously, Ghana allowed visa-free entry for citizens of 26 African countries and visas on arrival for travelers from 25 others, with only two African nations requiring prior visas.
With this policy shift, Ghana joins Rwanda, Seychelles, Gambia, and Benin as the fifth African nation to grant visa-free access to all African passport holders, marking a significant step toward greater regional integration and mobility across Africa.
