Hon. Gbolahan Adetokunbo Ogunleye (fondly known as OGA), the respected Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Ikorodu Constituency I and Chairman of the House Committee on Overseas Investments and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has extended heartfelt felicitations to his Muslim constituents in celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.

In his goodwill message marking the sacred Islamic festival, Hon. Ogunleye called on the faithful to embrace the deep spiritual significance of Eid-ul-Adha by emulating the unwavering faith, obedience, and submission exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (ASW). He described the festival as an opportunity for introspection, renewal of faith, and recommitment to service—both to God and humanity.

“Eid-ul-Adha is a profound reminder of sacrifice, humility, and compassion. It teaches us timeless lessons of patience, selflessness, and kindness, especially in times of hardship. By embodying these virtues, we not only honor the spirit of the season but also contribute to a more just and loving society,” Hon. Ogunleye noted.

The lawmaker further urged members of the Ikorodu community to extend kindness beyond their immediate circles by supporting the vulnerable, sharing joy with neighbors, and fostering peace across religious and ethnic lines. He emphasized that these values were not only religious imperatives but also key drivers of community development and social harmony.

Highlighting the alignment between Eid-ul-Adha’s core values and the broader goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Hon. Ogunleye reinforced his commitment to inclusive growth and welfare for all residents of Ikorodu.

He concluded his message with a prayer for divine blessings upon all Muslim families celebrating the festival:

“May Allah accept your prayers and sacrifices, enrich your lives with peace and prosperity, and grant us all the privilege to witness many more Eid celebrations in good health and unity,” he said.

As a visible and active lawmaker dedicated to the well-being of his constituents, Hon. Ogunleye’s Eid-ul-Adha message is a call to action—one that resonates with the values of faith, empathy, and shared progress, especially in these defining times for Nigeria’s social and moral fabric.
