Ikorodu, Lagos – April 25, 2026 — A wave of political solidarity swept through Ikorodu on Saturday as the Lagos State Supervisors and Special Advisers Ikorodu Division Forum (LSSIKDF) led a high-energy walk in support of Babajimi Benson, drawing a large turnout of party faithfuls, community stakeholders, and residents.
The procession began at the lawmaker’s constituency office and moved through key parts of the community, signaling growing grassroots alignment ahead of the political season. Participants described the walk as both symbolic and strategic—an affirmation of confidence in Benson’s leadership and developmental strides.
The rally culminated at the palace of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, where a formal letter conveying the community’s position for Benson to assume the role of Chairman of Ikorodu LCDA was presented. The monarch acknowledged receipt of the letter during a brief press interaction and reassured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of his support, emphasizing unity and continuity within the division.
The palace moment underscored the enduring role of traditional institutions in shaping grassroots consensus, particularly in a politically active region like Ikorodu. The endorsement reflects a broader alignment between community aspirations and political direction.
Speaking exclusively to DASCENARIO during the event, Aarabirin Hon. Princess Folasade Olabanji-Oba offered an emotional and emphatic endorsement of Benson, framing the movement as one rooted in love, loyalty, and shared progress.
“This is love work. Solidarity work—for a leader, a representative that we all adore,” she said. “This is us saying we want more. Across generations, he has done tremendous work.”
She continued, “We want to say we love him. We’re praying for strength. And as we’re going into the electioneering, we’re standing tall. We stand with Honourable Babajimi Adegoke Benson.”
Describing the lawmaker as deeply connected to the people, she added, “JB is a man of the people. He’s for everybody. What we are saying is—imbibe the spirit. The spirit of prosperity, progress, and love for the people. A real role model—that’s who he is.”
