The Committee, led by Majority Leader Hon. Noheem Adams, conducted a thorough investigation and established that the descendants of Segun Eyingbala are the original customary owners of the disputed property. This finding brings clarity to a long-standing contention over ownership of the land.
As compensation for the resolution of the ownership dispute, the House resolved that the State Government should allocate 50 hectares of land in a suitable location within Ikorodu to the Eyingbala family. This decision balances the university’s need for its existing campus with recognition of the family’s historical claim.
Lawmakers commended the Committee’s diligence in investigating the matter and unanimously endorsed its recommendations as the official resolution of the House. The decision provides closure to a dispute that had the potential to disrupt academic activities at the institution.
