Lagos-Ikeja City Award 2025 To Honour 100 Trailblazers At 16th Edition — A Grand Celebration Of Excellence And Impact

Published:

In a bold affirmation of its legacy as one of Nigeria’s most prestigious platforms for honouring excellence, the Lagos-Ikeja City Award is set to host its 16th edition this Saturday, May 24, 2025, spotlighting 100 outstanding personalities whose unwavering commitment and achievements have contributed significantly to the economic and social growth of Lagos State — Nigeria’s bustling commercial nerve center.

The much-anticipated event, organized annually by Solkem Entertainment in partnership with Access Weekly Magazine, will be held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference & Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, at 12 noon.

For over a decade and a half, the Lagos-Ikeja City Award has stood as a beacon of recognition for those advancing the development of Lagos and, by extension, Nigeria. The awards cut across a wide array of sectors including politics and governance, oil and gas, finance, real estate, media, religion, entertainment, sports, aviation, logistics, and traditional institutions — celebrating individuals and organizations that embody integrity, vision, and resilience.

According to the convener, Sola Olugbemiro, an indefatigable media entrepreneur, the 2025 edition will not only uphold the award’s high standards but exceed expectations with a grander scale of celebration and inclusion.

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, will serve as Chief Host, further affirming the state government’s endorsement of the awards as a credible platform for public and private sector recognition.

Renowned corporate titan and Group Managing Director of IMC Holdings Limited, Omooba Segun Adewale, FRPA, will deliver the keynote address. His speech will tackle the theme:
“Renewed Hope: Advancing Policies for Economic Stability and Inclusive Growth in Africa,”
— a timely discourse in the context of Nigeria’s current economic reform agenda and the broader African development narrative.

This year’s awardees are a rich tapestry of influential leaders, policy shapers, and industry drivers. Some of the notable names include:

  • Hon. Toke Benson, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture

  • AIG Fayoade Adegoke, Zone 2 Police Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos

  • AIG Margaret Ochalla, AIG Alagbon

  • CP Jimoh Mashood, Lagos State Commissioner of Police

  • Barr. Rekiyah Hassan, Executive Chairperson, Onigbongbo LCDA, Ikeja

  • Otunba Oladipupo, Oluwloni Olo 1, Chairman, Ayobo–Ipaja LCDA

  • High Chief Dr. Michael Onuoha, Chairman/CEO, Aisles Group

These individuals and others to be honoured exemplify excellence and commitment to public service, governance, business innovation, and community development.

The organizers promise an unforgettable ceremony, enriched with glitz, glamour, and a celebration of impact. The event is expected to draw a cross-section of Nigerian society’s crème de la crème, including top business magnates, respected political figures, cultural icons, and celebrities from the entertainment world.

The Lagos-Ikeja City Award 2025 is more than just a ceremony — it is a national statement of encouragement, proving that integrity, diligence, and visionary leadership are still very much valued and celebrated in Nigeria.
