The Lagos State Coconut Development Authority (LASCODA) is taking steps to revive the popular Eko Coconut Bread, a beloved delicacy among Lagosians.
The Coordinating Director of LASCODA, Ms. Olajumoke Ola, met with key stakeholders in the pastry sector to strategize on restoring the iconic bread.
Speaking during the meeting at LASCODA headquarters, Ms. Ola emphasized the unique nutritional value and cultural significance of Eko Coconut Bread, describing it as “second to none.”
She acknowledged the challenges faced by bakers while highlighting the vast opportunities the initiative presents. Ms. Ola reassured stakeholders of the State Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment that would support their growth and success.
The stakeholders, in turn, shared insights on their challenges and proposed ways forward. They expressed appreciation to LASCODA and the State Government for spearheading the revival initiative, describing it as a welcome move that would benefit consumers, bakers, and the state’s economy.
The meeting marks a significant step toward reintroducing Eko Coconut Bread to Lagos’ culinary landscape.
