The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has assured residents of smooth traffic flow across the state during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, while reiterating its zero tolerance for traffic violations.
Newsconnect reports that the General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, gave the assurance in a goodwill message to Muslims marking the end of Ramadan, urging them to sustain the virtues of discipline, patience, and civic responsibility.
He commended the Muslim faithful for their devotion during the holy month and stressed that such values should extend to road usage and general conduct.
Bakare-Oki warned motorists against reckless driving, illegal parking, one-way driving, and other traffic offences, noting that violators would face strict enforcement measures before, during, and after the festivities.
He disclosed that LASTMA personnel have been strategically deployed across major highways, junctions, and high-activity areas to prevent congestion and ensure seamless vehicular movement.
According to him, the agency will operate round-the-clock in collaboration with security and emergency responders to maintain order and ensure public safety.
He urged Lagosians to cooperate with traffic officials and comply with road safety regulations to guarantee a peaceful and congestion-free celebration.
