Nollywood Worrisome Death Trend: Jnr Pope Dies From Drowning On Eid-El-Fitr Day!

The recent and worrisome trend of Nollywood actors mysteriously dying experienced another ugly twist today, Eid El Fitr day, April 10th, as Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo died away after drowning while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat which capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State.

As if he had been having a strong premonition of death, the actor had shared a video of himself on a boat, praying frantically to arrive at his destination safely.

The  social media space has been abuzz since the news was leaked and many of his fans and friends have been mourning his sudden demise.

Jnr Pope’s death comes shortly after a flurry of deaths in the Nigerian Movie industry, with the most recent being that of Jenifa’s Diary actress, Jumoke Aderounmu, whose death was the fifth recorded in Nollywood this year.

Recall that on March 24th, Amaechi Muonagor, another veteran of Nollywood, kicked the bucket. The veteran who had been battling kidney disease for months passed away and the news was made known on Twitter by one Morris Monye, who noted how despite all efforts to save his life by flying him to India for treatment, he still died.

Also Nollywood producer and marketer, Ikechukwu Nnamdi better known as Andy Best, had passed on after being confirmed dead at a private clinic in Owerri, Imo State on Tuesday, March 19th after battling a prolonged ailment and his remains had been deposited at the Aladinma Mortuary in Owerri.

Mr Ibu gave up the ghost at Evercare Hospital. The actor who had been battling for his life for months, kicked the bucket following a cardiac arrest. His death threw the industry into mourning as he was the beloved of many and had made our childhood memorable.

Sisi Quadri died despite being rushed to the hospital in his hometown Iwo, Osun State, after suffering persistent hiccups which were caused by kidney-related issues. The actor was laid to rest, a day later, in his hometown.
