Brands Communication Head Charts Path for Men’s Well-Being in High-Pressure Society

LAGOS, NIGERIA – In a powerful and thought-provoking session at The Industry Men of Impact Conference 2025, Mr. Adedayo Adeosun, Group Head, Brands Communication at OriginTech, delivered compelling insights on achieving balance in today’s fast-paced world, urging men to embrace vulnerability, self-awareness, and intentional self-care as pillars of sustainable success.

Held on November 4, 2025, at the Radisson Blu, Ikeja, the conference brought together top corporate leaders including Mrs. Bunmi Oke, Barr. Emmanuel Ajufo, and Mr. Bolaji Abimbola, among others, to address pressing issues faced by modern men.

Moderated by Mr. Raheem Akingbolu, Brands and Advertising Editor at ThisDay Newspapers, the panel delved into the societal, religious, and personal pressures that often lead men to neglect their well-being.

In his responses, Adeosun challenged long-held stereotypes, stating, “We need to change our views about being invincible to being vulnerable.”

He highlighted how societal and religious expectations place an unsustainable burden on men, leading to shorter life spans—a trend evident in the growing number of “landladies” as primary property owners.

“Men die quicker because they are expected to shoulder all responsibilities,” he noted, urging men to resist manipulative influences and avoid comparing themselves to others.

He also critiqued religious doctrines that discourage men from questioning their roles, emphasizing the importance of self-defined success.

“Reality is that you just must do YOU. Everybody should search for their own truths,” he advised, sharing a personal anecdote about losing a business opportunity with British-American Tobacco due to his religious convictions—a decision he made in alignment with his values, despite the cost.

Prioritizing Health: Lessons from Personal Loss

Adeosun stressed the importance of proactive health management, recounting the loss of his brother to cancer at age 40. “I lost my brother when he was just forty years old, and painfully so to Cancer. I had to learn about Cancer so as to avoid the same from happening to me,” he shared. He advocated for regular medical check-ups, a disciplined diet, and physical activity as essential practices for men. “It is always good to control what one can rather than die carelessly as a result of ignorance,” he added.

The Role of Social Connections and Technology

Beyond physical health, Adeosun highlighted mental well-being, encouraging men to reconnect with old friends and socialize regularly. He shared how recent interactions with longtime companions left him feeling refreshed and mentally balanced.

On technology, he described it as a vital tool for modern living. From health-tracking apps to digital resources for balanced living, he urged men to embrace technological advancements. “Any man not smart enough to embrace Technology would only be short-changing himself,” he stated.

A New Blueprint for Male Empowerment

Adedayo Adeosun’s session provided not just reflection but actionable solutions—graphically mapping a route to balance for professionals, fathers, and leaders. His message resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the need for a shift in how men perceive strength, success, and self-care.
