Oyo State Government Extends Road Rehabilitation To Other Areas

Published:

The Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) has announced plans to extend its road rehabilitation exercise to other areas of the state, following the commencement of repairs on the Zion Plaza – Olusoji Avenue linking Alao Akala Expressway in Ibadan.

According to the Chairman of OYSROMA, Mr. Busoye Ogunlade, the agency has identified other roads in bad condition and will embark on a massive repair exercise to ensure smooth roads and socio-economic development in the state.

Ogunlade lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his swift approval of the repairs, noting that the road leading to the residence of Senator Teslim Folarin, the governor’s main opposition in the last general election, was given priority due to its deplorable condition.

The repair works, which have begun with desilting of drains and cutting of bad portions of the road, aim to alleviate the plight of road users and boost businesses and transportation in the area.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, confirmed the development in a statement, saying the government is committed to achieving zero potholes on Oyo State roads.
