Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the esteemed General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has publicly disavowed a series of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos that falsely depict him endorsing certain drugs and scholarship programs. These misleading videos have been circulating across various social media platforms, causing confusion and potentially deceiving unsuspecting individuals.
In an official statement released on his social media accounts, Pastor Adeboye expressed deep concern over the deceptive nature of these AI-generated clips. He emphasized that he has no affiliation with the promotions featured in these videos and urged the public to remain vigilant. He stated, “I have been made aware of disturbing AI-generated videos circulating online, falsely advertising certain drugs and scholarships that are intended to deceive and mislead people. These videos are NOT from me, and I want to make it clear that I have no involvement in such promotions.”
Pastor Adeboye further advised his followers and the general public to refrain from engaging with or sharing these fraudulent materials. He encouraged individuals to report any such deceptive content to the relevant authorities and social media platforms to prevent further dissemination. He remarked, “I urge all of you, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, to be vigilant and not fall for these fraudulent schemes. They are designed to exploit your trust for selfish gain. Please do not share or engage with these posts.”
The cleric also highlighted that actions are being taken to address these malicious activities, particularly those originating from entities like “Africa Health Centre” and “Church-Funded Scholarships.” He assured that the relevant authorities are actively dealing with the situation to ensure that such misuse of his name and image is curtailed. “These malicious acts by ‘Africa Health Centre’ and ‘Church-Funded Scholarships’ are being dealt with already by the relevant authorities as we will not allow God’s name to be used in vain for such wickedness,” Pastor Adeboye affirmed.
