In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the Legislative Quarters community in Jos, a 51-year-old married man, Moses Abraham, has been arrested by Plateau State Police Command for the brutal murder of his lover, a hairdresser identified only as Cecilia.
The fatal encounter unfolded on Friday night in an apartment that Abraham himself had reportedly rented for the deceased, culminating in a violent climax that exposed the dark undercurrents of a secret relationship.
According to eyewitness accounts and police sources, the chain of events began when Abraham, a long-distance tanker driver and father of five, made an unannounced visit to Cecilia’s residence. To his shock, he discovered another man in the apartment. Consumed by anger, Abraham initially left the scene to cool off at a nearby bar, where he consumed alcohol while waiting for the man to depart. However, rather than diffusing the situation, the alcohol appeared to have fueled his rage, setting the stage for a tragic confrontation.
Later that night, Abraham returned to the apartment. Witnesses described how he locked the door and launched a violent assault on Cecilia. In a fit of uncontrollable fury, he allegedly slammed her head repeatedly against the wall before seizing a stone and delivering the fatal blow to her skull. The attack was so brutal that Cecilia, who was separated from her husband and ran a local hair salon, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
In a surprising turn of events, Abraham reportedly walked to the Nasarawa-Gwom Police Station after realizing Cecilia had died, where he confessed to the crime.
Police officers accompanied him back to the scene, where they recovered the victim’s body and transported it to a mortuary.
