According to a post shared on Instagram by former commissioner and veteran actor, Richard Mofe Damijo, a.k.a RMD, today 29th December 2023, is the 23rd year of wedding his lovely wife and soul mate, Jumobi, after his first wife passed away.
Mofe-Damijo was appointed as the Special Adviser of Culture and Tourism[ to the then Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in 2008, and later became the commissioner for Culture and Tourism of Delta State in 2009. His tenure ended in 2015.
He was initially married to a journalist/publisher and talk show host, May Ellen ‘MEE’ Ezekiel, who bore him 3 sons, and it wasn’t until after her death in 1996 that RMD re-married TV personality, Jumobi Adegbesan, who later left TV presenting for the corporate world. They both have two offsprings from the marriage.
The couple got married on the turn of the millennium after so much speculation at the time, on December 29, 2000.
In the post shared on his Instagram page, RMD wrote;
‘’Abiks, how are we even 23 years in this journey of life together?”
