Saudi authorities have arrested four Nigerian nationals in possession of 39 kilograms of cocaine, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The arrests were made by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, who apprehended the individuals while they were distributing the drugs from their hideouts in Jeddah.
In recent operations, authorities have intensified efforts to combat drug-related crimes across the Kingdom. Border Guard patrols in Jazan intercepted 270 kilograms of qat in Al-Aridah and an additional 126 kilograms in Al-Dayer. A Saudi citizen was also apprehended in Al-Dayer for transporting qat in his vehicle.
In a separate operation, the directorate arrested a Pakistani national in the Eastern Province for selling methamphetamine, commonly known as “shabu.”
Preliminary legal procedures have been completed, and all confiscated substances have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation. Security officials have reiterated their call for the public to report any information regarding drug smuggling or distribution to aid in maintaining safety and security.
