Unpaid Debt Leads To Unusual Retribution: Sex Worker Seizes Coffin In Mbare

Published:

In a remarkable turn of events in Mbare, Harare, a commercial sex worker confiscated a coffin from a hardware shop as compensation for an unpaid service fee of US$5.

The incident centers around a man known as King Joshua, who allegedly misled the woman by claiming he was the manager of Ozei Hardware. He reportedly used the shop as a venue for their encounter but failed to pay the agreed amount afterward. In response, the woman took an empty coffin valued at US$60 from the store, creating a spectacle that drew a large crowd. Security personnel on duty captured the scene, and the footage quickly spread across social media platforms.

The actual owner of the hardware shop, identified as Ozei, expressed his astonishment upon learning about the situation. He accused King Joshua of repeatedly bringing women into his establishment under false pretenses. “I was phoned by the police at around 11 PM, asking who was at my hardware shop,” Ozei recounted. “Joshua had been hooking up ladies of the night and bringing them into my hardware shop, all behind my back. I now suspect one of the coffins I lost last year may have disappeared the same way.”

This incident has ignited widespread discussion online, with many expressing disbelief at the lengths the woman went to recover her unpaid dues. The local police are currently investigating the matter.

The story has garnered significant attention on social media platforms, with users sharing their astonishment and opinions on the unusual form of retribution.
