Courage Harrison Energies Eyes Renewable Energy Expansion After First Year In Petroleum Business

Published:

Courage Harrison Energies Limited says it plans to explore renewable energy, including wind power, while supplying petroleum products and pursuing opportunities in Nigeria’s evolving energy market.

The emerging energy company, founded in September 2025, identifies fuel delivery, market competition and international business enquiries as key considerations as it looks beyond conventional petroleum trading.

Courage Harrison Energies targets renewable energy opportunities

Courage Harrison Gideon, who identified himself as the head of Courage Harrison Energies Limited, says the company is exploring opportunities to expand beyond petroleum product trading into renewable energy, including wind turbine technology, as it seeks to contribute to Nigeria’s energy supply.

Speaking during an interview at an energy industry event, Gideon said the company supplies petroleum products, particularly diesel and Jet A-1 aviation fuel, and also seeks to supply crude oil to refineries.

He said the business was founded on September 10, 2025, and was still in its early stage of development.

According to Gideon, the company’s immediate focus is on meeting market demand, building business relationships and addressing the logistical requirements involved in delivering petroleum products to customers.

Delivery logistics remain a business consideration

Reflecting on the company’s early experience, Gideon identified product delivery as one of the practical issues the business has had to navigate.

He explained that entering the petroleum market required the company to establish its position among existing operators and find ways to meet customer demand in a competitive environment.

Gideon also referred to the challenge of sourcing crude oil to fulfil market requests, explaining that a new entrant must build relationships with suppliers while remaining competitive.

He mentioned established energy companies, including Seplat Energy, when discussing the competitive landscape. However, he did not provide details of any formal supply agreement with the company.

Despite these considerations, Gideon described the business experience so far as encouraging and said the company was looking towards further expansion.

Company reports international enquiries

Gideon said Courage Harrison Energies had received enquiries from contacts in more than 50 countries through energy-related platforms.

He presented the international interest as a potential opportunity for business growth, although he did not specify how many of the enquiries had progressed to confirmed transactions, supply contracts or established commercial partnerships.

For the company, converting such enquiries into sustainable business relationships could be an important step towards expanding its customer base and strengthening its position in the petroleum market.

Energy conference offers networking opportunities

Assessing the energy industry event, Gideon described it as encouraging, noting the participation of people from different countries, including China and Pakistan.

He said the gathering provided an opportunity for stakeholders to engage on issues affecting Nigeria’s energy market, particularly the need for greater stability and improved power supply.

His comments come amid wider discussions about electricity reliability, infrastructure investment and energy-sector development in Nigeria.

The ongoing Nigeria Energy 2026 is scheduled for October 27–29 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos. The event brings together energy-sector stakeholders to examine power supply, grid reliability, investment and technology.

Gideon’s assessment reflects the value smaller and emerging energy businesses place on industry gatherings as opportunities to build networks, identify suppliers and explore potential commercial partnerships.

Wind power among proposed expansion areas

Looking ahead, Gideon said the company was interested in exploring renewable energy, particularly wind turbines, as part of its longer-term expansion plans.

He indicated that the company wanted to examine how renewable energy technologies could contribute to Nigeria’s energy supply.

However, he did not outline a specific wind power project, investment commitment, implementation timeline or technical partnership. The renewable energy proposal should therefore be understood as an area of interest rather than a confirmed project.

For Courage Harrison Energies, moving into renewable energy would represent a potential diversification from its current petroleum-focused business. Such a move would require further planning, technical expertise, investment and an assessment of the commercial and infrastructure conditions necessary to deliver viable projects.

Nigeria’s broader energy transition continues to create discussions around how conventional fuels, renewable sources and electricity infrastructure can work together to meet growing demand.

Building a petroleum business while exploring new markets

Gideon’s remarks outline the priorities of a young energy company seeking to establish itself in petroleum supply while considering opportunities in other parts of the energy value chain.

The immediate challenge is to develop reliable delivery arrangements, secure suitable supply relationships and turn customer enquiries into sustainable business. The longer-term ambition is to explore renewable energy options, including wind power, as the company considers how it might participate in Nigeria’s evolving energy market.

Whether these ambitions translate into wider operations will depend on the company’s ability to secure commercial partnerships, mobilise investment and demonstrate the capacity to deliver on its plans.

For now, Courage Harrison Energies Limited says it intends to build on its petroleum business while exploring opportunities that could broaden its role in the energy sector.
