Ijede Land, Ikorodu, Lagos – [22.06.2024] On behalf of Bet9ja Foundation, Bet9ja Super Agent 0563 is proud to announce the official commissioning of a public borehole project at the Alajede’s Palace in Ijede Land, Ikorodu. This initiative, coordinated by Mayowa Salawu, Bet9ja Super Agent 0563, marks a significant step towards providing clean and accessible water to the community.

The commissioning event, held on Friday 21st June, 2024, at the historic Alajede’s Palace, was graced by the presence of Chief Babatunde Aliyu Ogunmuyiwa, the Odofin of Alajede of Ijede Land. In his address, Chief Ogunmuyiwa praised the initiative, highlighting its positive impact on the community’s health and well-being.

While giving his speech, Mayor Mayowa Salawu said:

” I am Mr. Mayowa Salawu, Bet9ja Superagent 0563 and I am happy to say that this is not our maiden project in Ijede. It is not the first nor second one.

We have held Football Tournaments with great rewards and fanfare for participants in our host communities and several grassroots talents unearthed from such venues are now plying their football trade overseas and in lucrative local clubs.

We are using this gesture as a means of giving back to our host communities as well as to show that Bet9ja is not all about Betting only.

We Thank God for the successful completion of this massive borehole project even as we await the next one. Always expect great innovation from Bet9ja Foundation. I am proud to be a Bet9ja Super Agent always, and don’t forget, 0563 is the code. Thank you.”

Chief Babatunde Aliyu Ogunmuyiwa, Odofin of the Alajede of Ijede Land

The Odofin of the Alajede of Ijede Land, Chief Babatunde Aliyu Ogunmuyiwa could not hide his excitement at the completion of the project especially being the chief custodian of the Alajede’Palace by traditional rites of inheritance and how the borehole would be a steady source of potable water supply for the Alajede’s Palace. While speaking to Alfred Abiodun, the Online Publisher/Editor of DASCENARIO, a viral news and entertainment platform, he said:

“I am Babatunde Aliu Ogunmuyiwa, the Odofin Alajede of Ijede Land. I have nothing to say than the biggest “Thank You” to Bet9ja Foundation for bringing this great initiative to the Alajede and the people of Ijede land. Though, we neither expected nor saw this coming in any way. We are however delighted with the development. However, there are still so many areas where we want Bet9ja Foundation to assist us, because, we are just like Oliver Twist; we ask for more. But once there’s life, there’s hope.

Number One for me, is in the area of employment. We believe Bet9ja has the capacity to give us between 5 to 10 slots for us to give to our youths to work in their office, and not just in shops. We have so many unemployed graduates in Ijede here, and we all know what is going on in the country today.

The second area I would like Bet9ja to be involved is in our schools. Our public primary and secondary schools require more classroom buildings, Administrative Blocks and decent toilets. If that can be done, our gratitude to Bet9ja would know no bounds.

Like I said earlier, we are Oliver Twists, hence, the third area is in the provision of more 5 or more standard community taps like this. We have space available for free if required for the situation of the boreholes.

There is no type of community initiative that Bet9ja can bring to Ijede Land which would not have readily available space to be built upon. Look at the surroundings of the Alajede’s Palace for instance. It needs to be fenced to keep out human and wildlife intrusion. Imagine the accolades and immortalization that Bet9ja Foundation can receive from doing this for us.

The massive installation, featuring a four-tank system with an additional giant tank as backup, ensures a reliable water supply for the community. The project, completed within days, proudly displays the Bet9ja Foundation logo, symbolizing the organization’s commitment to community development.

This borehole that we have been blessed with will be useful to the community, as well to us here in the Palace of the Alajede of Ijede.

May their business never run down. I believe that this is just a sneak preview into the greater things that are still to cone, and I pray that their Foundation will continue to touch lives and change destinies. They will reap the profits of all their corporate social responsibility activities.

On behalf of Ijede Community and the Palace of the Alajede, I say a big Thank you to Bet9ja Foundation.”

Reactions from a cross section of the attendees were overwhelmingly positive.
