Lawyer Accuses Police Of Assault And Brutality For Enquiry About Client At Lagos Police Command

Published:

A lawyer, Timothy Olamide Olaniyi, has alleged that a police officer attached to the Lagos State Police Command beat him up within the premises of the Command in Ikeja when he had gone there to make enquiries as mandated by the edict of his profession as a legal counsellor.

According to the tweet sent via his X account, @Timo_Olamide, Olaniyi explains that he had gone to the police command to enquire about the welfare of a client whom had been arrested a month earlier.

However, he alleges that he was beaten like a “condemned criminal” on enquiring after being told that it wasn’t all cases that lawyers could handle.

The lawyer made a complaint on X to the Lagos State Police Complaint Response Unit.
