President-elect Donald Trump, during a keynote address at the AmericaFest conference for young conservatives in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, December 23, pledged a sweeping agenda aimed at reversing policies on transgender rights and asserting a conservative vision for the United States.
Trump declared his intention to “stop the transgender lunacy” from day one of his presidency, vowing to issue executive orders to reshape the nation’s stance on gender identity and LGBTQ+ issues.
“There will only be male and female in America,” Trump stated emphatically. “I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, remove transgender individuals from the military, and keep transgender ideology out of our elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools.”
Among his promises, Trump also reiterated his commitment to barring transgender women from participating in women’s sports. “It will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” he declared.
A Divisive National Debate
Transgender issues have become a focal point in U.S. politics, with states governed by Democrats and Republicans charting divergent paths on policies ranging from medical treatments for transgender minors to restrictions on books addressing gender identity in public and school libraries.

During his Phoenix speech, Trump painted a bleak picture of the past four years under the Biden administration, characterizing it as a period of “failure, incompetence, and national decline.” He contrasted this with ambitious promises for his second term.
“On January 20, the United States will turn the page forever on four long, horrible years,” Trump said, referencing his upcoming inauguration. “We will usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, and national greatness.”
Trump also outlined bold foreign policy objectives, pledging to end the war in Ukraine, stabilize the Middle East, and avert what he described as the looming threat of World War III.
“I will end the war in Ukraine. I will stop the chaos in the Middle East, and I will prevent, I promise, World War III,” he said to a roaring crowd.
In a nod to his core supporters, Trump declared, “I can proudly proclaim that the golden age of America is upon us.”
