The ongoing family controversy involving Nigerian singer Asake has taken a new turn as Mr. Fatai Odunsin, the man who recently went viral claiming to be the artist’s father, has now come forward with his family to make specific demands.
In a newly surfaced video, Odunsin and his relatives are requesting that the award-winning musician provide a ₦50 million house in Isale Eko, which they claim will generate rental income to support him. Additionally, they are demanding a DNA test for an 11-year-old girl named Zeenat, whom they allege is Asake’s daughter but has been neglected by the singer.
A family representative passionately appealed to Asake, emphasizing his alleged responsibilities.
“I’m begging you, Ololade Mr. Money. Even if Nigerians donate ₦10B to this man, just ₦1M from Asake would make him happier. Please take care of your father. If you don’t want to support him directly, buy him a house in Isale Eko where he can earn rent to survive. Also, if you are in doubt about Zeenat, the mother has agreed to a DNA test.”
The video has ignited a firestorm of reactions on social media, with many users debating the legitimacy and fairness of the family’s demands. While some argue that Asake, as a successful artist, has a moral duty to support his father, others believe the requests are excessive and could be an attempt to exploit his wealth.
In response to the first viral video, Asake seemingly addressed the controversy through his music. In a newly released song, he reflected on the pressure he faces from those around him, singing:
“You can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God and always remember the day you’ll die and meet your God. My people, can you see? Even my father wants to cajole me. I used to press money for him, and I do it with one mind. No one can quench my fire. God is the one that is taking me ahead in life.”
While the singer has not directly addressed the family’s latest demands, his lyrics suggest his stance on the situation, leaving fans to speculate on the true nature of his relationship with Odunsin and the alleged child.
As the controversy unfolds, public opinion remains divided, with many awaiting a potential response or resolution from the artist.
