…Delivers Immediate Impact with Market Women Grants, Commissions Community Water Project, and Donates Solar System
The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, Mr. Olusegun Dada, has pledged increased federal presence and deeper collaboration with local authorities in Ikorodu Division, following a high-impact visit to the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA).
Mr. Dada made this commitment on Monday, 30th March 2026, during his official visit to the Council Secretariat, where he was received by the Executive Chairman of IBLCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, alongside Oba Biliamin, Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Development; members of the Legislative Arm, the Executive Council, representatives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, and the Ikorodu Youth Assembly.
DASCENARIO reports that beyond reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to grassroots development, the visit also translated into immediate benefits for residents through economic empowerment and infrastructure support.
In his remarks, Mr. Dada commended the leadership and people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and the wider Ikorodu Division for their strong democratic participation, particularly during the last general elections.
“I am willing and ready to collaborate with this administration to bring more federal presence and development to Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and the entire Ikorodu Division,” he stated.
He further emphasised that the Federal Government remains committed to supporting communities that demonstrate active civic engagement, through tangible development projects and improved service delivery.
Mr. Dada also acknowledged the Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, as a kind man, stating that he has heard a lot of good about him and has witnessed in person the good man that he is and the strides he is making in the LCDA. He commended the entire leadership of the LCDA for their dedication to community development.
As part of activities marking the visit, Mr. Dada empowered 12 Market Women by presenting ₦100,000 grants to each of them, providing direct support to boost their businesses.
The beneficiaries described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that the support would enhance their capacity to sustain and grow their enterprises amid prevailing economic challenges.
In a significant infrastructure intervention, Mr. Dada also commissioned a newly completed borehole water project in Ire community, facilitated by the Ikorodu Youth Assembly in commemoration of the 54th birthday of Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
At the commissioning, Oba Biliamin stated that the project was chosen to add value to the community and commemorate the MHR’s birthday, expressing his broad positive impact across Ikorodu Division which cannot be overlooked.
The project is expected to provide clean and accessible water to hundreds of households, addressing a critical community need and improving public health outcomes.
Additionally, Mr. Dada sponsored the donation of a solar system to power the street and the water project, ensuring sustainable and reliable energy supply for the community infrastructure.
The dual focus on empowerment and infrastructure underscored the practical significance of the visit: demonstrating how strategic collaboration between federal representatives, local authorities, and community stakeholders can translate into real, measurable benefits for the people.
Welcoming the Presidential aide, the Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, described the visit as a major step toward strengthening federal-local synergy in driving development.
“This engagement goes beyond protocol; it represents a pathway to practical collaboration that will accelerate infrastructure delivery, empower our people, and expand opportunities across our communities,” the Chairman said.
The visit concluded on a note of shared commitment, with both parties expressing optimism about sustained collaboration in key areas, including infrastructure development, youth empowerment, women’s economic inclusion, and social investment programmes.
With this renewed partnership, expectations are high for increased federal intervention and accelerated development across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and the broader Ikorodu Division.
