The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended four armed robbers responsible for the killing of retired Army Brigadier General Uwem Udukwere in Abuja’s Sunshine Estate.
Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh announced that two additional suspects are still at large and have been declared wanted.
General Udukwere was fatally shot during a robbery at his residence on Saturday, with the assailants demanding jewelry and escaping with his pistol.
The incident marks the third attack on the general’s home, according to his wife.
The police have launched an investigation, and the arrested suspects are currently in custody.
The National Assembly’s Sergeant-At-Arm, Air Commodore S.A Zakari (retd.), confirmed the general’s death and provided details of the robbery.
The family will determine the next steps regarding the funeral.
