Ikeja, Lagos – February 20, 2026 – More than 300 students across Ikeja Constituency 01 have joyfully received free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination pins from the lawmaker representing the constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Seyi Lawal. The presentation ceremony took place on Thursday at the Ireakari Constituency Office.
The initiative marks the third edition of the lawmaker’s JAMB support programme, which has consistently recorded impressive outcomes. Hon. Lawal disclosed that beneficiaries of the first and second editions achieved remarkable results, with many scoring above average and securing admission into their preferred universities.
“This initiative is the third series of its kind in the constituency. The first and second editions recorded wonderful results, with our students scoring beyond average and successfully gaining entry into their choice universities. They made me proud and inspired me to do more than their expectations,” the lawmaker stated.
Call for Focus and Academic Excellence
Hon. Lawal charged the beneficiaries to remain focused during their examinations and make their parents proud. He further announced that his constituency office has committed to increasing rewards beyond the 50/50 support system initiated since his assumption of office.
“Any student who scores beyond 3.5 grade points in their first academic year in the university will be greatly supported, by God’s grace,” he promised.
The lawmaker also offered counsel to the students as they prepare to transition to tertiary institutions. “At the university, a student begins another stage in life where new friends with different characters will be encountered. Everyone at that point needs to choose wisely whom to work and study with, so that you do not end up joining cults or bad company,” he advised.
Development Agenda and Re-election Promise
Addressing Cfame News correspondent during the event, Hon. Lawal assured constituents that significant developmental projects would transform the constituency if he secures a second term in office.
“I know where the shoe pinches and how to attend to the needs of my people. I keep telling my people that I am there to represent them as their servant, not as a leader, because a servant has listening ears to listen to the people’s complaints,” he emphasized.
The lawmaker pointed to his track record as a grassroots politician, having served as Supervising Counsellor, Counsellor, and council leader, as evidence of his commitment to constituency service.
Prayer for Success
In his closing address, Hon. Lawal prayed that more than 100 of the beneficiaries would gain admission to their universities of choice, expressing confidence in their ability to excel.
The free JAMB pin initiative represents one of several educational interventions by the Ikeja Constituency 01 lawmaker, underscoring his commitment to youth development and academic excellence as pathways to community transformation.
