The Lagos State Office Of Internal Audit has promised to give no room for Embezzlement but to create an attractive magic to attract the Non Tax Payers to pay, when we generate non tax revenue, to block Leakages through the use of technology.

This was revealed on Friday, during the last day of the 5 Day Training On Revenue System Audit Of Non Tax Internally Generated Revenue, held at the Neca House, Alausa secretariat ikeja, organised by the Lagos State Office of Internal Audit, in collaboration with the University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business Alberta, Canada.

Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser of the Office of Internal Audit, Dr. Mrs. Oyeyemi Ayoola expressed that Lagos will not relent in its commitment, to fill all the gaps in the state daily operations, in auditing non tax operations for the benefit and betterment of the citizens of the state.

She stated that the Auditors training has been enlightened more to keep the Auditors high in spirit, in the areas of Billings, Reconciliation and Excellent Reporting as the Auditors, to be unlearned, learnt and relearn in order to help to move the state forward without a single setback.

She said in her address, that Lagos State will not stop here, but to continue to run a unified system of government to move it to the local government levels, for all Lagosians to enjoy its benefits in the area of better infrastructure, education, schools, roads, and the health care services and for other stakeholders of government to key into the system.

The Permanent Secretary of the Internal Audit, Mrs. Kikelomo DAWODU (FCA) advised the training participants to go back to their various office and agencies, to impact them with their wealth of knowledge, because there is no single waste in any professional session driven with technology for it is faster and gives best of results.

A Participant from the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission, Mr. Gandi Semako Oluwatosin commended the State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Special Adviser and the Permanent Secretary for selecting and their approval to be part of the training in order to be more exposed and to increase in the non tax revenues of the State.

He described the training as wonderful one that taught him well on the use of tools, skills on software, so as to enable Auditors to block any Leakages to make Lagos revenue increase in tax area.

Because the state does not want the Auditors to rely more on manual routine but to be accurately digitalised and be included in the settings of the Lagos State Ministry of the Science and Technology.

Other Participant, from the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, Champion group, Mrs. Olowoidiaba Rashidat said it is important to enunciate it rightly that Lagos State has 70 percent accounting for tax revenues, but really want to move from that pace, to a long tax revenue.

She gave a brief insight also as part of the training, as it was designed to focus on better ways to redress a Non Tax Revenue that are falling in some other funding tax.

She thereby promised to begin by impacting LASRRA with what she has learnt so well, for the progress of the state and will be ready to partake in other upcoming audit processes to make it easy at the end, because the whole participants have been informed, that they would be channelled to different MDAs from time to time as a special assignment.
